Student Organizations
BEN FRANKLIN WAS A STATESMAN, THINKER, PHILANTHROPIST, PRINTER, SCIENTIST, REVOLUTIONARY, AND INVENTOR…WE CAN RELATE.
Some of our most talented athletes are also student congress members. Biology students are standouts in the drama club. Sorority sisters lead chapel services. That’s the kind of college this is.
With an ongoing commitment to Excellence, Leadership and Service, our students are also active in service projects from the moment they set foot on campus. We call it FOCUS day (Franklin Offering the Community Unselfish Service.) From AmeriCorps, to Habitat for Humanity, to Best Buddies, Franklin students embody Ben’s charge to “Pay it forward”.

Academic Clubs
- Athletic Training Club: A community of athletic training student dedicated to enhancing and sharing their knowledge of athletic training with each other and with the community.
- Business/Marketing Club: An organization composed of students interested in exploring careers in economics, business, marketing and accounting.
- Chemistry Club: An organization which promotes the interaction and professional development of students interested in the chemical sciences.
- Education Club: Unites secondary and elementary education majors, and those who think they may want to explore teaching, to work together for the promotion of education.
- Pre-Law Club: Strives to promote and maintain the interests of students in Pre-Law, and to learn about law schools and information common to this specific major.
- Scrubs Club: Scrubs Club is a pre-professional club composed of students interested in pursuing careers in the healthcare field.
Academic Honoraries
- Alpha Lambda Delta: The purpose of Alpha Lambda Delta is to encourage and recognize superior academic achievement amongst students in their first year of higher education.
- Alpha Society: The Alpha Society is the oldest and top academic honorary at Franklin College. It honors students, faculty, and staff who excel academically. The top 10% of seniors with the highest grade point averages are invited to join this society.
- Chi Beta Phi: Chi Beta Phi is a scientific honorary created to promote interest in science and to give recognition to scholarly attainment in science.
- Omicron Delta Kappa: ODK serves as the campus leadership honorary.
- Pi Sigma Alpha: Pi Sigma Alpha is the political science honor society.
- Theta Alpha Kappa: Honors outstanding students in the field of religious studies and theology.
Advocacy Organizations
- Black Student Union: The Black Student Union’s desire is to increase human relations within the entire college community regardless of race, sex, religion, or national origin. BSU hopes to positively influence all students academically, culturally, and socially while promoting the Franklin College spirit of excellence and prestige.
- Grizzly Pride Alliance: G.P.A. exists on the Franklin College campus to bring awareness, education, support, and social opportunities for students who identify as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning and all Allies of the community.
- Student Association in Support of Multiculturalism: S.A.S.O.M. is an organization that promotes diversity and cultural celebrations, by providing opportunities for friendship, understanding and learning.
- Wave 3: Increases awareness of women's issues, to secure a more egalitarian campus and community and to promote intelligent and amicable discussion of women's issues that exists internationally, nationally and locally.
Fine Arts
- Drama Club: Drama Club is devoted to supporting and promoting theatre on campus and in the community as well as providing opportunities and recreational activities for its members.
- Franklin College Band: A band program for students who enjoyed playing and performing in their high school band programs, and wish to continue playing during their college career.
- Franklin College Singers: The FC Singers is a mixed ensemble that performs a variety of genres. Students can earn an activity credit by joining.
- Franklin College Theatre: An opportunity for students to participate in all of the roles of theatre, from behind the scenes to center stage.
Greek Life
One of the cornerstones of fraternity/sorority life is a commitment to helping others. Members of fraternities and sororities spend many hours each year providing service to those who are less fortunate. Within each chapter there is a close friendship, often described as a brotherhood or sisterhood, which only the fraternity or sorority atmosphere can foster. Also, recent studies indicate that Franklin College Greeks have higher grade point averages and graduation rates than their unaffiliated peers.

Journalism
- Franklin Communications: Franklin Communications is the on-campus PR Agency. It promotes cultural tourism throughout the 12 states of the Midwest.
- Inside Franklin: Inside Franklin is the student-produced television Webcast.
- The Franklin: The Franklin is the weekly student-produced campus newspaper.
- The Wellhouse: The Wellhouse is the student-produced magazine that incorporates a different central theme, created by the magazine editor, each semester.
- WFCI: WFCI is the student-run radio station that offers students the opportunity to become involved in broadcast and earn credit for it.
Service Organizations
- Best Buddies: This organization is dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-on-one friendship.
- College Mentors for Kids: C.M.F.K. pairs college students with at-risk elementary school children. “Buddy pairs” meet in groups for weekly activities on campus that focus on education, cultural awareness and social responsibility.
- Habitat for Humanity: Habitat for Humanity travels to various locations to help build and repair housing for poverty-stricken families. They also educate the campus on issues of homelessness and poverty.
- Student Foundation: Student Foundation is a dedicated organization comprised of select juniors and seniors. Members serve as ambassadors to trustees, alumni, friends, donors and the student body.
- Up 'til Dawn: Up ‘til Dawn is a national, collegiate organization that raises money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Student Interest
- Environmental Activists Restoring the Habitats: E.A.R.T.H.'s mission is to promote an appreciation for the environment and the diversity of plant and animal life through outdoor and community activities.
- FC Dancers: The FC Dancers strive to promote and present quality dance entertainment at the homecoming pep rally, half-time shows at football games, and half-time shows at the men’s and women’s basketball games.
- Fellowship of Christian Athletes: F.C.A. strives to present to athletes, coaches, and all whom they influence the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church.
- Intercultural Book Club: The Intercultural Book Club is an informal gathering of faculty, staff and students to discuss books that deal with intercultural issues such as the concepts of race, gender and belonging.
- Intervarsity Christian Fellowship: Their goal is to follow Jesus as Savior and Lord: growing in love for God, God's word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture and God's purpose in the world.
- Intramurals: Franklin College intramural sports present students with the chance to get the most out of their athletic abilities.
- Residence Hall Association: Members of the Residence Hall Association promote getting to know your neighbors, abiding by all college policies and speaking out when problems arise within the residence halls and on campus.
- Student Congress: Student Congress is the student government on campus. It serves to represent the student body, act as a channel of communication between the students and the administration, regulate and allocate student activity fees, and be a means to which the students can voice their concerns.
- Student Entertainment Board: S.E.B. collaborates with the Student Activities Center in sponsoring campus-wide events and traditions, both on and off campus.
- World Cultures Club: World Culture Club promotes diversity by organizing and participating in activities that have social, cultural and intellectual value.
