The Value of a Liberal Arts Education
Be prepared to study subjects far beyond your major. That’s the premise of a liberal arts education, and for Franklin students, it’s the reason class is never boring. Not only will you be challenged to broaden your entire perspective, you’ll build the necessary skill sets to land the job you want after graduation and beyond. The liberal arts curriculum will teach you to speak clearly and confidently, write effectively, and think critically. Those three skills will be the foundation of your career whether you intend to be an engineer or an educator.
So go ahead: Get to know Shakespeare and dabble in ceramics. Hang out in the biological field station in Hougham Woods and then head to your philosophy class to discuss religions of The East. Who knows, you may even discover a passion you never knew you had. It happens to our students every day. It could happen to you.
